Following on from a highly competitive tender process taking almost two years to complete, Chester Machine Tools were honoured to supply and install specialised machines at Brunel University for their new unique national facility. The Centre for Advanced Solidification Technology AMCC 1 / 2 programmes concentrates on light metal research into high performance light alloys, efficient manufacturing technologies and component innovations for industrial applications to meet the needs of future engineering in UK industry.
“We had to take several important factors into consideration for the customer’s requirements not only in the university’s CNC machine specification but also as the machines were to be installed on a second level mezzanine platform so we had to consider the machines configuration carefully to ensure it met the university’s needs and that the V6L and Asteroid could also be installed in the designated position,” stated Anthony Edwards – Sales Director. “Our team of education tender specialists were dedicated to providing their utmost support to Brunel University to meet the exacting specifications of Brunel’s new technical facility and specialist machining requirements. Facing intense competitor activity for this project, the team at Chester feels extremely proud to have won the tender for this globally renowned engineering university and innovative research centre.”
